CLARE BUHLER
Senior Pastor

You will see him with the church family and all over town! Clare is not only our spiritual leader and the lead Pastor of the flock here at HCC, but he is involved in community and school leadership as well. His given name is "Clarence" (named after his dad) and you can't miss him...he's about 6'5" tall and isn't exactly the shy and retiring type. No one is a better storyteller, a more tender heart, or loves the Lord, people, and a good game of basketball more than Clare. Clare was raised in the Oregon Willamette Valley on a Century Farm near Dallas, Oregon.

He served for 17 years on the Pastoral staff at Tigard Christian Church in Tigard, Oregon, serving primarily as Youth Pastor as well as time ministering to Children, Music, and Recreation. Clare has been the Senior Pastor here at Harrisburg Christian Church for 13 years.

His higher education pedigree includes a B.S. in Biblical Studies from Northwest Christian University, B.S. in Secondary Education from University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and a Masters Degree in Ministry from Pepperdine University.

Clare and his wife, Twila (who works as the Administrative & Ministry Assistant at HCC) have three sons: Gabe, who works for the Harrisburg School District and has a Bachelors in Youth Ministry and a Masters in School Counseling from NCU. Son Jordan will be a Sophomore at Northwest Christian University and plays Basketball for them, and Tysen, will be a Junior at Harrisburg High. They all live in Harrisburg.

Quote of the Day
"Life major pursuit is not
knowing self...
but knowing GOD.
Unless GOD is the major pursuit of our lives, all other pursuits are dead-end streets,
including trying to know ourselves!"
Charles Swindoll
Verse of the Day
"For HE (God) chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.
In love HE predestined us to be adopted
as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will -
to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us
in the One He loves."

Ephesians 1:4-6
